Happy Birthday, Beth, Andrew, and Audie!

On Saturday (the 16th) we celebrated Beth's 21st birthday and our cousins from Virginia, Andrew and Audie's 14th birthday. It was a lot of fun, even though Beth's actual birthday was a few days earlier and the boys' birthday was in a few days. We had a cake for Beth and a cake for Andrew and Audie, and they all had gifts and cards. We spent the whole day at Grandma and Grandpa's house with our "Virginia cousins" (as we call them), hanging out and enjoying each others company.

Happy B-day Beth, Andrew, and Audie!

Happy Anniversary!

Today my parents celebrated their 16th anniversary! Sadly they couldn't go out by themselves, but my mom got an ice cream cake that read: "Thank you Jesus for Our Family!"

It is also a beautiful May day, which makes up for yesterday's dull rain.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there! We had a positively GORGEOUS day on Sunday. My mother was very tired so after Mass she stayed home with Grammy and the two of them rested. Meanwhile my Dad took all six of us kids out to parks. We went to this park next to Lake Redman first. We went on a long 1.6 mile hike to this overlook which overlooks the highway and lake, hundreds of feet below us. Everything was soooooo green, and the picture up top with the title is of Max and Rose on the hike.

The Lake:

Trees:

Rose was very happy!

Hiking...

"Look at my flower!"

"This is fun!" Ben enjoyed riding on my Dad's back during the hike.

We got very high, here if you look hard, you can see the lake.

Hiking...

The highway far below us.... ....Can you see the cars?

We passed a big vine, which Max and Rose tried to climb.

"Can I please try now?"

Hiking..

"WE'RE ON THE RIGHT PATH DAD!" John Paul enjoyed directing us with the map!

It's Comming

Okay guys, I'm sorry it's been so long since I last posted about our new house: 232 Sheffield drive. I have taken pictures even though I haven't made individual posts. And now I am making one long post. :)

The boy's room all painted! The colors are bright and funky!

The living room, we put up the swatches of the green my mom picked, but it hasn't actually been painted yet.

Resting in between work:

One day my Dad and Uncle Jim jack-hammered a long section of concrete in Grammy's apartment and in my Mom's office. They needed to do that for the plumber to be able to run water and sewage pipes into Grammy's apartment.

Some more pipes:

John Paul showing off the pipes:

My parent's painted bedroom. Do you like the color they picked?

This picture is sideways, but anyway once you figure out which way to look at it, it's the upstairs bathroom. The tub is out and we are slowly scraping off the glue from the tile:

All the pictures below this are the currant pictures.

The framing on the outside of the garage for the siding:

The family room is being used as a warehouse.

Grammy's tub base is in!

Her bedroom, bathroom, hall, and closets are framed!

A part of her bathroom:

My dad got the drywall up in his workshop downstairs:

My mom started digging the hole for my window well:

We have a Robin's nest in our new yard, three beautiful eggs:

My dad got a riding lawnmower and was able to mow just about all of the yard, but we have a couple steep hills that he can't get. So of course the grass is pretty long. Max liked being able to practically hide in it!

Rainy Days

We have non-stop rain for the past week. Well okay, that's a little bit over-exaggeration. It was only 6 days, plus it would rain then stop, then rain then stop, ect. But it was always overcast and dreary. Today we saw the blue sky again! YAY!!!!

Getting ready to play outside in the rain:

"Okay, enough pictures! Can I please go outside!"

"Yay, my raincoat is pink!"

The awning above our front door is leaking, so every time it rains we get a mini waterfall right in front of our door! Ben was very fascinated by the water hitting the porch and liked to lay down and watch it.

Watching the "waterfall"

The next four pics are of our "waterfall" I probably take too many pictures, and I apologize if they are boring!

Rose likes to make sad or somber faces when she isn't really sad.

On Tuesday Cecilia made a big "tent" in the living room out of blankets and chairs. (She did clean up afterward!)
Ben liked the secret entrance!

Cecilia and John Paul inside the "tent".

Max sitting on one of the chairs.

We had to make do with being cooped up in our too-small-for-nine-people house for 6 days, and so my siblings found creative ways to play. Like making the "tent" and playing board games like Yahtzee.

And after rain, rain, rain, and more rain, we finally had a blue sky!!!!!!!!!!! I thought if was "April showers bring May flowers". But what happens when it's "May showers"? "June Flowers maybe?"
